Is it normal to love your gynecologist as much as we do? We have deemed ourselves honorary chair members of Dr. Holt’s fan club.
Dr. Holt came into Megan’s life through the miracle story of her nephew, Kai being born at 27 weeks. She was the doctor On Call the morning of. Her sister had been on bedrest for three weeks after her amniotic fluid was leaking. Dr. Holt was the one to break the news to her sister and her husband that it would be safer to get him out. Her sister always says Dr. Holt was so comforting and said exactly what they needed to hear in one of the scariest moments of their life. Fast forward eight years, her nephew is a happy and healthy 8 year old! After this experience, her whole family started going to Dr. Holt and referring anyone and everyone they knew!
So of course when her and Mykie met, she referred her and Mykie fell in love with her as much as she did, and we have both had our four babies between us with Dr. Holt by our side. She is a brilliant doctor, and also has a way of making you feel safe and comfortable.

- Tell us a little bit about you!
I was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas ( so I am a native Texan ). I went to school at The University of Texas at Austin and medical school at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. I met my husband when I was in my residency training in Houston and we have been married for 15 years. We moved back to Frisco to be closer to family in 2007. We are members of Frisco First Baptist Church. When we aren’t doing “all things kids” or traveling, my husband and I are homebodies. - How many kids do you have and what are their ages?
Three kids. Jobe age 14; Malia age 12; and Nash age 9 - What’s your favorite thing about being a mom?
My favorite thing about being a mom is watching my kids grow up and be little people. I know that sounds silly, but you raise them from these tiny babies that do not do too much¦ into these little people with personalities and opinions. - How did you end up in Frisco?
My husband, Wade, and I had our first son in Houston. I was at the end of my training and we loved Houston. I began working for a big practice while I was pregnant with my second child and we just knew we couldn’t stay in Houston without any family to help us with our growing family. We wanted to move to Frisco to be near my mother and my husband’s family who are all from Celina, McKinney, and Frisco.
- What do you love about Frisco?
I love that there are so many things for my family and kids to do in such a small area. I love that there are families here that share our same values and I love that the community is a safe environment for my kids. - What’s your favorite restaurant in Frisco?
So many to choose from!!! I love dives, so my favorite dives are Simply Thai or Best Thai for Asian food, Mariana’s Taco Shop for Mexican food, Fifth Street Cafe for American Food, 811 for Pizza, Starwood Cafe for breakfast, or Del Frisco’s Steakhouse if I am in the mood for really fancy food. - What’s your favorite place to shop in Frisco?
I love to shop online, but if I have to go to a store it would be Nordstrom or Landry Kate (officially in McKinney). - What’s your favorite thing to do when you need some me time?
Yoga! I have been doing yoga since 2010, after my third child. If I could do yoga all day, every day, I would retire and be a yoga teacher. I once went to a quiet yoga retreat in Arizona and didn’t say one word for seven straight hours and it was awesome! - Tell us about your career.
I began my career in 2006 and then opened up my practice here in 2007. I needed a place I could be a mom and a doctor at the same time so I opened up my own business to do that. Since then, my patients have given me closer relationships that I ever thought possible as a doctor and am so blessed and fortunate for that opportunity. - What do you love about your career?
My career is rewarding, but also very demanding. My pastor says the ideal job is one that you love and one that makes you feel like you are making a difference, and I think that describes my career perfectly. I love that I get to do a little bit of everything. I not only get to deliver babies but performing Robotic Minimally Invasive surgery and my new focus of adolescent gynecology.
My first love is delivering babies and building families. I love when families I know want to introduce me to their friends, and parents, and neighbors because that means I made an impact on them. I also love when I am on my patients Christmas card list or I have families that move away from Frisco and come back to visit me just to say hi.
I am slowly transitioning and nurturing another love of mine which is adolescent gynecology.I think my new love of adolescent gynecology stems from the fact that I have adolescents myself, and so I find it easy. I also remember seeing the gynecologist myself as a teenager and remember it was the worst experience. I want to show young teenagers that the doctor’s office isn’t a horrible place, but a place where I can be an extension of the parents and someone they can look up to. - What is one thing you look forward to every year?
As a Christian, I look forward to God giving me wisdom daily. As a wife, I look forward to another successful and happy year with my husband. As a mother, I look forward to being on the sidelines of every accomplishment that my children have and savoring every minute I have with them. As a woman, I look forward to learning from my mistakes from the previous year and improving on myself. - How do you juggle your career with being a mom and wife?
I just do. I juggle all day long! When my husband and I got married we knew that kids AND career were a big priority and we wanted to do both. I say “no” a lot at work when it comes to doing anything after office hours that would take me away from my kids at night. I have an amazing husband that lets me juggle both and be good at both! I also have an amazing childcare provider who has been with us for 12 years and I couldn’t be a good mom without her. - What’s the best piece of advice you’ve gotten from another mom?
The best piece of advice I have gotten from another person was from a FATHER, my pastor. God blessed me with my particular children. My kids are unique and they were given to me graciously and purposefully, in all their perfection and imperfection. I have a role that no one else can play. No one should love my children more than I do. They are my responsibility. I am indispensable to my kids. - What’s one fun fact about you?
I don’t know how to swim. I would drown in less than 5 minutes if left in a pool alone. Lol!
