We haven’t known Ashley long, but we were immediately drawn to her and her business. It is so hard to stay healthy with all the food out there available at our fingertips, so when we see a business like Clean Juice that is all about promoting a healthy lifestyle for the whole family, we were onboard! Clean Juice West Frisco is a family run business, with true heart and value behind it. They have really thought all the little details through, including Monday’s where you can get a free kid’s smoothie with any purchase! We are thrilled to get to know Ashley and her family more; please help us by welcoming their business into the Frisco Area!
- Tell us a little bit about you!
My name is Ashley and I grew up in Honeoye Falls, New York which is a small suburb of Rochester in the Western part of the state. My husband, Sean, and I started dating when we were 19 years old and have now been married for 13 years. I graduated St. John Fisher College with a Bachelor’s degree in Sport Studies with a minor in Marketing. After I graduated I took a job in senior living and went on to have a 10 year career in that industry before becoming a stay at home mom. Sean and I aspired to open a business together when our youngest started Kindergarten. Our passion for a healthy lifestyle and the vision of a family run business is what ultimately led us to opening Clean Juice West Frisco.
- How many kids do you have and what are their ages?
We have two boys, Owen (10) and Gavin (6).
- What’s your favorite thing about being a mom?
Let’s be real, mom life is hard. There are days when you don’t even know how you are going to survive the hour ahead of you. So, I think it is tempting for us to gravitate towards the feelings associated with the difficult parts of being parents, rather than the most soul fulfilling ways in which our kids enrich our lives. That said, if I were to pick one thing that makes me most grateful for the gift of motherhood, it is the connection we have when I am watching them do something they love or when they are telling me about something they are passionate about. In our busy lives, these intentional moments are what I hold onto as I watch them grow.
- How did you end up in Frisco?
About six months after Sean and I got married, we decided we wanted to move away from the cold and took advantage of job opportunities that would bring us to Dallas. We initially lived in Plano and then moved to Frisco just over 7 years ago.
- What do you love about Frisco?
We love the big town small town feel of Frisco. As the city continues to grow we love that we have access to so many different events and community resources, yet there are a multitude of neighborhood pockets within Frisco that generate a sense of belonging for those who live in them.
- What’s your favorite restaurant in Frisco?
True Food Kitchen
- What’s your favorite place to shop in Frisco?
Lululemon
- What’s your favorite thing to do when you need some “me time”?
When I became a stay at home mom I found the transition to be difficult initially. I fell back on my love of running to maintain my sanity and that led me into a deeper appreciation for fitness and weight lifting. CrossFit, running and BarMethod are my go-to “me time” activities!
- Tell us about your career.
As Gavin entered his last year of preschool, Sean and I brainstormed about what our venture might be that could utilize our combined talents and passions. Sean found Clean Juice and we were drawn to learning more about the concept because Clean Juice is certified organic, offers cold-press juices and developed their core values from Bible verses. I feel as though all my professional experience leading up to this venture has molded my ability to contribute towards our team dynamic.
- What do you love about your career?
Opening Clean Juice West Frisco is much deeper than running a business for us. In additional to working with my husband, I have the privilege of working along side my mother in law, Jackie, who serves as our General Manager. As a family, we share a passion for healthy lifestyle and an appreciation for organic food and cold-press juices. I love that we are on a mission together to share this passion with the community. I also love that we have built a Juicerista team who shares our vision. Our hope is that they feel as though they are an extension of our family and that you feel that same warmth as a customer at Clean Juice.
- What is one thing you look forward to every year?
Family vacations! We enjoy traveling and sharing the world with our boys. While I am personally partial to warm climate vacations, I value any time we get to spend together away from our typical busy lifestyle.
- How do you juggle your career with being a mom and wife?
I am no longer afraid to ask for help when I need it. We are not meant to do it all. God puts specific people in our lives to create community; people who know they can count on us just as much as we know we can count on them. People who understand that marriages are nurtured through intentional time spent without your kids and people who love on and pour into your kids as they do their own. I firmly believe the balancing act is achieved through these precious relationships.
- What’s the best piece of advice you’ve gotten from another mom?
Surround yourself with 3 AM friends. These are the women who you know, without a doubt, would answer your call at 3 AM, roll out of bed and help you no matter what. These are the women who encourage you, want to see you succeed and love your family like their own. Hold on to these women because these relationships are rare and they will heavily influence your life for the better.
- What’s one fun fact about you?
My maiden name was White. It never occurred to me when Sean and I were dating that if I were to marry this man my name would color flop to Green!
