We are thrilled to have you all meet Mandy Lane, she is basically a sister from another mister and we are so excited to share her Interior Design business, Lane Home Design. We could not recommend her services more, if you are looking for someone with amazing style and precision she is your girl! Learn a little bit more about Mandy below:
Tell us a little bit about you! I’m a native Texas girl who grew up in Austin. But, right out of college, I got a great job that brought me to the Dallas area. Soon thereafter, I met my husband with whom I will be celebrating 14 years of marriage this September. We are blessed with two beautiful daughters who both bring so much joy to our world! Oftentimes, my husband and I forget what life was like before them. Ha!
I’m a Christian and fully believe that God takes us down different paths at different points in our lives. For me, I started in the corporate world and was successful in my roles in sales & marketing for many years. And then after starting a family, I chose to go part-time for a while – eventually becoming a full time mom. But most recently, after thoughtful prayer and lots of signs, I launched Lane Home Design, an interior design firm, based in North Dallas and surrounding areas. And after looking back, I feel like this is what I should have always been doing! To paint the picture, and I know it’s cliché, but I was the girl who drove my mom nuts when I would constantly rearrange my bedroom furniture and redecorate my room. And from a young age, I always loved all things that added fun patterns, textures or pops of color to help liven up my spaces! I even helped my friends decorate their bedrooms and later their homes. That, alongside briefly working for an interior design firm in Austin while in college, has led me to where I am today – which is the world of interiors!
How many kids do you have and what are their ages? Landry, 11 and Audrey, 7
What’s your favorite thing about being a mom? I love to watch my kids grow and become their own person. It’s fun to see their different personalities shine and watch them find their own passion in the things they love to do.
How did you end up in the North Dallas area? After living in the Midway Hollow area for a few fun years, my husband and I started our family. We quickly outgrew our space and decided to move North, which has brought us so many wonderful blessings, new friends, and more space for our kids to grow! And thankfully, my husband is now closer to his Plano office – which is wonderful for our work-life balance.
What do you love about the Frisco area? I love that Frisco is a family-oriented community that’s continuously growing and bringing new opportunities to the area.
What’s your favorite restaurant in the Frisco area? J. Theodore’s, Eight 11, Up Inspired Kitchen – just to name a few!
What’s your favorite place to shop in the Frisco area? Blue Door Boutique, Flea Style and Nordstrom
What’s your favorite thing to do when you need some “me-time”? I like to go on walks and workout. But for some true “chill” me-time, I love to read a good book with a nice glass of red wine.
Tell us about your career. When starting Lane Home Design, I knew my “why” would be helping busy families refine and refresh their spaces. I look at the design effort as a way to solve a problem for my clients. Planning a redesign and renovation project can be super overwhelming for some because there are SO many details to think about! But, I truly find joy in taking the stress out of the design process and in helping my clients navigate what will work best for their individual spaces. Because I’m a mom myself, I thrive on redesigning spaces by making them truly functional for families. Creating attainable plans with each client’s goals in mind, has allowed me to lay the path for successful partnerships. Lane Home Design is about creating clean, simple, livable spaces where you can truly feel your best “at home”.
What do you love about your career? I love meeting new people, seeing how others live and what’s important to them. Each and every project is unique and it also allows for different challenges along the way as well.
What is one thing you look forward to every year? We love to travel and although there wasn’t much of that going on in 2020, I always look forward to exploring new places and being inspired along the way.
How do you juggle your career with being a mom and wife? To me the number one thing is setting boundaries with my clients, allowing me to continue to make my family the priority.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve gotten from another mom? A very wise woman once told me: Be present and available.
What’s one fun fact about you? I recently started learning how to play golf. And although it is a frustrating sport at times, I’m really liking it! Plus, it’s giving me extra dates with my husband, now that I can join him on the course!
