Family Friendly Restaurant Tour

Okay guys, I don’t claim to be foodie or an expert; but I will say I have been around the restaurant business my whole life and I work with restaurants today so I’d love to share some of our favorite spots in the area with you all. A little background on my history with restaurants, my dad grew up in New Orleans basically in a Restaurant/Bar and even though he was a dentist by profession, his true passion was food so he opened Lone Star Café in Austin before I can remember. I grew up witnessing all the ups and downs of the restaurant business. It is definitely a space that you have to be super passionate about and truly love it, otherwise the stress might take you out! My first job of course was at Lone Star and I learned the ropes of all areas of the business, except cooking because let’s face it, I didn’t inherit the cooking gene like most of my family, but I do love to eat so there is that, ha! I admire all restauranteur’s as it is a competitive space to be in, and I always want to support as much as I can!

My background came full circle when I joined Favor Delivery almost 4 years ago. We partner with restaurants to utilize the Favor platform as a Marketing tool, to get their food in front of more people on a daily basis. I am super grateful to get to know as many local businesses as possible and help have an impact in any way I can.

There are absolutely too many wonderful restaurants in town to name them all, but here are some of our favorites that we feel comfortable bringing kids to as well:

• • Tacodeli – started in my hometown of Austin, TX so I have a special love for Tacodeli. Love the people, love the food!
    • LOVE all breakfast tacos
    • Lunch favorites:
      • My Favorite: Freakin Vegan, Papadulce and Guacamole
      • Hubby’s Favorite: Tacoloco and El Conquistador
      • Kiddos Favorite: Egg & Cheese Breakfast Taco
  • Sauce Pizza & Wine – Since the Prosper location opened, it has been one of our favorite spots to go and eat. The food is really good and it is super kid friendly.
    • My Favorite: Quinoa, Beet & Arugula Salad & Tomato Soup
    • Hubby’s Favorite: Baked Beef Lasagna
    • Kiddos Favorite: Pasta with Red Sauce or Pizza
  • Crush Taco – One of my husband’s favorite spots! The owner, Mo is one of a kind and it shows in his authentic concept and flavorful food.
    • My Favorite: Rice Bowl with chipotle chicken or carmelized cauliflower (no cheese since I’m dairy free)
    • Hubby’s Favorite: Braisted Beef “Barbacoa Style” Taco and Street Corn “Elotes”
    • Kiddos Favorite: Cheese Quesadilla
  • Hat Creek Burger Co – this place was created for parents! Not only is there a playground to wear your kiddos out, the food is so yummy!
    • My Favorite: Paleo Burger and Sweet Potato Fries or the Cobb Salad. Also love their Brekkie Bowl for breakfast!
    • Hubby’s Favorite: Signature Burger
    • Kiddos Favorite: Tiny Hat (kid’s sliders) with kids tots or fries
  • East Hampton Sandwich Co – Not only is the Branding of East Hampton on point, so is the food. We’ve never been disappointed with what we’ve tried!
    • One of my favorite things about EH’s menu is you can make anything a sandwich, wrap or salad!
    • My Favorite: Goat Cheese & Avo Sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries (my fav everywhere as you can tell ha!)
    • Hubby’s Favorite: Roast Beef & Swiss with Pesto Pasta
    • Kiddos Favorite: Pasta Shells in Butter Sauce
  • UP Inspired Kitchen – We are suckers for a good latte and avocado toast! Not only do they have a “good for you” menu, the food is delicious. They also have a sweet patio with a little kid’s playhouse, so they’ve really thought of it all for us momma’s!
    • My Favorite: Avocado Toast with a side of Veggie Sausage and Chicken Pesto Bone Broth. Also love a Chai Tea Latte with Coconut Milk.
    • Hubby’s Favorite: French Toast for Breakfast and Short Rib Bowl for lunch
    • Kiddos Favorite: Mini Straight Up with a side of Pancakes
  • Modern Market – A great company from Colorado, we’ve always had a good experience here. Love the food and the atmosphere, so glad they made their way to Texas!
    • My Favorite: Thai Coconut Salad or Blueberry Pesto Sandwich (I sub goat cheese for mozzarella)
    • Hubby’s Favorite: BLT + A Sandwich
    • Kiddos Favorite: Mac N Cheese and Carrot Lemonade!
  • Toasted Walnut Café – Cute small town spot in the Celina Square, we’ve only been once, but we loved what we had and can’t wait to go back!
    • My Favorite: Tomato Basil Soup and Chicken Avocado
  • Cavalli Pizza – GOOOOD Pizza, need we say more!?
    • My Favorite: Insalata Noci
    • Hubby’s Favorite: The Dallas Pizza
    • Kiddos Favorite: Cheese Pizza
  • Tender Smokehouse – let us just start by saying, I’m not a huge meat eater and Mykie isn’t at all so we were a little apprehensive, but oh my gosh Tender is so good.
    • My Favorite: Turkey and the Stuffed Sweet Potato
    • Hubby’s Favorite: Prime Brisket and Sausage Jalapeno Cheese
    • Kiddos Favorite: Lil Choppo and Banana Pudding
  • Mah-Jong Chinese Kitchen – This authentic spot gives me all the feels of my favorite Chinese food in Austin as a kid
    • Family style – Shanghai Style Dumpling, Sesame Chicken, Stir Fry Beef & Broccoli, Mah-Jong Garlic Fried Rice
  • Simply Thai – we started coming to Simply Thai when we first moved to Frisco seven years ago and have always loved it!
    • Family Style – Pad Thai and Tom Kha soup, kiddos also love their fried rice
